The 12th INTEGRATED STRATEGIC FINANCIAL AND PROGRAM PLANNING Course

From 9 to 14 November 2009, SATUNAMA held the 12th Integrated Strategic Financial and Program Planning Course (ISFPP) in the SATUNAMA Training Centre, Yogyakarta. Of the 27 participants that took this course (12 female, 15 male), 17 participants work for NGOs and the other 10 work for the Timor Leste Administration and Planning Ministries.

This course is SATUNAMA’s contribution to the development of other NGOs and government so that they could increase the synergy between program and finance departments. If an organization has a strategic program, they will have a mechanism to compete with other organizations. This program planning will work if it is supported by strategic financial planning, professional human resources, and strategic communication planning. Financial planning will help the organization administer their resources for program implementation and sustainability.
Mr. Meth Kusumahadi, the trainer, facilitated the process and the practice. He also gave input about several things related with planning, from planning philosophy, path model planning, project cycle management, analytical models, matrix models, fundraising, monitoring, and evaluation. Participants also learned about logical framework that could be used by NGOs and government institutions. These subjects enriched participant perspectives about how to integrate planning to all organizational elements and the community.

Pada tanggal 9-14 November 2009, SATUNAMA menyelenggarakan pelatihan Integrated Strategic Financial and Program Planning (ISFPP) yang ke 12 di Balai Pelatihan SATUNAMA, Yogyakarta. Dari 27 peserta yang mengikuti pelatihan ini (12 perempuan, 15 laki-laki), 17 peserta bekerja di organisasi non pemerintah dan 10 peserta bekerja di Kementrian Administrasi dan Penataan Wilayah Timor Leste.

Pelatihan ini merupakan kontribusi SATUNAMA terhadap pengembangan organisasi non pemerintah maupun pemerintah supaya mampu membangun sinergi antara bagian program dan keuangan. Apabila sebuah organisasi memiliki perencanaan program strategis, mereka akan memiliki mekanisme untuk memastikan posisi organisasi di tengah-tengah tingginya kompetisi. Perencanaan program ini akan berarti apabila didukung oleh perencanaan keuangan strategis, perencanaan sumber daya manusia profesional dan strategi komunikasi yang tepat. Perencanaan keuangan akan membantu organisasi dalam memperhitungkan kepemilikan dan kebutuhan sumber daya untuk implementasi serta keberlanjutan rencana program atau kegiatan dan organisasi.
Trainer, Meth Kusumahadi, memandu proses dan latihan serta memberi masukan mengenai berbagai hal terkait dengan perencanaan mulai dari filosofi perencanaan, alur perencanaan model, project cycle management, beberapa model analisis, beberapa model matrik perencanaan program, fundraising serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Peserta pelatihan juga mendapatkan gambaran perspektif (logical framework) yang dapat digunakan oleh kedua jenis organisasi. Hal ini semakin memperkaya perspektif partisipan dalam membuat perencanaan terpadu dengan seluruh elemen organisasi maupun masyarakat. Dalam penutupan semua peserta menilai sangat puas mengikuti seluruh pelatihan.
