Organizational Development Course

Community organizations (or better known as the Civil Society Organizations) are a form of citizens’ participation to support and control policies taken by government. In many countries, civil society organizations have a relatively poor bargaining position with governments that ignore the interests of marginalized communites. To increase their bargain power, civil society organizations need to identify and the internal and external obstacles to their development, and design strategies to overcome those obstacles.

Strengthening the presence of civil society requires the development of civil society organizations, including development of capacity and integrity of the organization, so that they can optimize their service to the community. A strong civil society organization is able to guarantee the sustainability of its program, sustainability of the organization, and social change at community level.

This course teaches participants about various aspects of developing a civil society organization, from the organizational assessment instrument, how to develop leadership, program planning, and human resources development. The material taught, among other basic elements of organizational management, includes the stages of the development of organizations, self-development, basics of organizational management and leadership, monitoring and evaluation, and communication planning. This course also draws on the shared experiences of participants and the resource person, class discussion, and field visits to other organizations.

Pelatihan Pengembangan Organisasi

Organisasi masyarakat (atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Civil Society Organisation) merupakan wujud nyata partisipasi warga negara untuk mendukung dan mengontrol kebijakan yang diambil oleh pemerintah. Di banyak Negara, organisasi masyarakat sipil cenderung memiliki posisi tawar yang kurang kuat terhadap penguasa sehingga kepentingan masyarakat kecil atau marginal semakin terabaikan. Untuk itu, organisasi masyarakat sipil perlu mengenali dan menyelesaikan hambatan internal maupun eksternal dalam perkembangannya.

Penguatan keberadaan masyarakat sipil memerlukan pengembangan organisasi masyarakat sipil yang meliputi pengembangan kapasitas dan integritas organisasi supaya mereka bisa mengoptimalkan fungsi pelayanan terhadap masyarakat. Organisasi masyarakat sipil yang kuat mampu menjamin keberlanjutan program, keberlanjutan organisasi, dan perubahan sosial di tingkat komunitas.

Pelatihan ini mengajarkan kepada peserta mengenai berbagai aspek untuk mengembangkan organisasi masyarakat sipil mulai dari instrument penilaian organisasi, cara mengembangkan kepemimpinan, perencanaan program, hingga pengembangan sumber daya manusia. Materi yang diajarkan antara lain elemen dasar organisasi, tahapan pengembangan organisasi, pengembangan diri, dasar-dasar manajemen organisasi dan kepemimpinan, pemantauan dan evaluasi, serta perencanaan komunikasi. Pelatihan ini juga dilengkapi dengan berbagi pengalaman antar peserta dengan narasumber, diskusi kelas, dan kunjungan lapangan ke organisasi.
